Hug-Evangelist

Years ago, I was praying to God about needing a real friend in my life. I wanted A friend that loves, would be trustworthy with sharing my heart, and someone I could look up to. I wanted to be a blessing back to this person and add to her life. I believe friendships are very important to pray about. The bible says, “As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend”. ( Proverbs 27:17) We all need people in our lives that shapen our view, our perpectives, our hearts, and are not afraid to point us back to God when we lose our footing.

It took some time but God eventually provided the kind of I friend I needed in my life. I call her my Lisa, my best friend. Honestly, I don’t know where I would be without her being available and present to remind me of the truth through difficult times. My best friend Lisa is someone that I can’t wait to tell my funny stories to because I know she gets me, and we have the best belly laughs. You know the kind of laughs that makes your tummy hurt in a good way and happy tears roll down your face. I love that our friendship isn’t staged and we can show up at each other’s homes on no sleep, with stained T-shirts, without makeup on, and no judgment.  My Lisa is the best hugger. When she hugs you, it’s like hearing a thousand kind words, solid truth, and embracing a confident comfort that it will be okay. I know she learned how to hug from spending time with Jesus. We all change when we spend time with Jesus don’t we? One day I was pondering how Lisa reflects the love of Jesus and I couldn’t help but give her the nick-name, Hug-Evangelist. She has earned it! Best Hugger and over the years, she has fully embraced me with unconditional love Just like my Jesus!

If your in need of a real friend in your life too, then go ahead and spend time praying about her. Watch and see how great God is at providing. Wait for the divine moment when you will just know, God brought a special friend in your life. While you wait, practice being the kind of friend you would want in your life!

What the bible says about friendship:

“Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.”

(John 15:13 ESV)

” Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way, you will fulfill the law of Christ”. ( Galatians 6:2)
