As the New Year approaches, I wanted to share an encouraging idea. Many years ago in a Bible study group, I learned the importance of making a mission statement.  A mission statement is an opportunity to define your purpose in life, or a good reminder summary of who you are in Christ. I am too familiar with forgetting who and whose I am on a difficult day. Having my mission statement in plain view encourages my perspective in the right direction. It is so important to know who you are, what you stand on and for, and where you are headed. What better time than the New Year to reflect and evaluate life a bit more in-depth. A mission statement is a compass to help you stay focused, identify your hopes and strengthen your vision over important goals in life. A helpful tool to weather life’s storms and find joy in seeing things accomplished that you set out to do. Think of a mission statement like a map, adding extra clarity to begin the New Year intentionally.

This is my mission statement; I share it with you as an example and hope you too can take the time to reflect on your life and look to the future with a renewed purpose.

“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago”. Ephesians 2:10

My mission is to glorify God by sharing about His great love. I long to point others to Him in a fresh way. I am not without fault, but I rise above my feelings or anything I lack, becoming vulnerable and present by His grace. I enjoy looking for and speaking about God’s amazing love threaded throughout the adventures of everyday life. I lead with humility, honesty, and love. I am confident that searching out the word of God propels me forward and has built a lasting foundation to stand on. I am passionate about being a child of God, a wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. I am convinced that as a woman; I can encourage the people in my life in a special way. I hope to bless my husband and children; be helpful in my community; and point others to Christ. I will not give up!

 I hope todays post encourages you to think about who you are in Christ and by understanding His amazing love, that love shapes your year in extraordinary ways. May creating a mission statement lead you down paths that are invigorating, inspiring and flourishing!
